Finding your voice – the courage to be true to yourself

Standing up for ourselves and speaking our truth openly are two important parts of finding our voice. But there’s more to a topic when we look deeper into it.

When we hear the phrase “It’s important to find your voice.” on our healing journey, many of us think that having a voice means standing up for ourselves and speaking our truth openly and freely. These two points are, of course, part of finding our voice. They are very important steps on our path. But, as always, there’s more to a topic when we look deeper into it.

Being kind can lead to self-betrayal

As a former people pleaser and co-dependent, part of my healing journey was not only recognizing my own needs, but also learning to voice them. No longer sacrificing what I needed in any kind of relationship just to avoid conflict was a huge step toward becoming my authentic self. We think we are being kind when we silence ourselves to keep the peace, but that’s not being loving to ourselves. In fact, it’s self-betrayal.

Staying silent in order to feel safe

If you grew up in a dysfunctional family system like I did, you may have learned that staying silent meant safety. You instinctively knew that not voicing your needs and feelings was ensuring your survival in an unsafe environment. Family is supposed to be a safe place, but unfortunately for many children this is not the case. If your needs, your emotions, your body, or even your very existence were belittled, ridiculed, disregarded or caused an outburst of anger in one of your parents or caregivers, you learned to suppress and deny everything that makes you you. It’s important to unlearn and release this coping mechanism and find your voice again.

Boundaries vs. compliance

Growing up in a dysfunctional home has taught you not to speak up, to hide and comply in order to feel safe and accepted. As a result, you also have no boundaries, because they have been crossed so many times that you have let go of them too. As we learn to recognize our needs and discover who we actually are on the path to healing, we begin to not only find our voice and speak our truth, but also to set healthy boundaries.
Don’t be surprised if some people begin to label you as difficult. Those were the ones who benefited from you not having boundaries. Once you start setting them, you are no longer controllable. You stop complying because you begin to honor yourself more. Speaking your truth and having strong & healthy boundaries are two powerful ingredients for true self-love. Finding your voice

The courage to be true to yourself and find your voice involves two energy centers in particular. If your solar plexus chakra is underactive, you lack healthy willpower. A healthy ego is needed to stand up for yourself. If your throat chakra is blocked, you won’t be able to express yourself authentically and creatively. On our healing journey, we want to release stuck energy from all of our energy centers, of course, and bring them into a healthy balance. But when we talk about finding our voice, the solar plexus and throat chakra need special attention during our healing sessions, be it in energy healing sessions, meditation, yoga, etc.
As you overcome and release the blockages that prevent you from expressing yourself authentically, you will also release the fear of being judged, ridiculed, rejected, or persecuted. These fears and wounds can stem not only from childhood, but also from past lives when it wasn’t safe to express yourself freely, such as the witch wound that many women carry. Therefore, healing is always multidimensional and all-encompassing.

The desire for authentic self-expression

Once you’ve started your healing journey and ascension path, the desire for authentic self-expression in all areas of your life will arise – the desire to express your unique soul essence personally and professionally. You no longer want to hide. You want to be seen, accepted and loved for who you truly are. Thus you begin to strive for authenticity rather than fitting in, even if it means losing people close to you. Authentic self-expression may sound easy on paper, but in reality it’s a skill that takes practice and courage, lots of courage.

Why courage?

In today’s world, we are still being rewarded for playing a certain role, wearing a mask, presenting an “acceptable” identity, and complying. That’s the old paradigm where people have been taught by society, the school system, their family, etc. not to ask questions, not to rock the boat, not to be unique, not to be playful and imaginative, to conform and fit in. This is why many people are disconnected from their true Self. They have no idea who they truly are. It takes courage to go deep within, stand out from the crowd and forge a new path.

Finding yourself

Therefore, the first step to finding your voice is to find yourself, or rather, to remember who you are at the soul level. This getting-to-know-yourself at a deep level takes courage. It requires courage to remove all the layers of a false identity and limiting beliefs. There can be shame and guilt associated with this topic if we have the limiting belief that we are not good enough. The feeling of not being good enough is very common in people who have experienced childhood trauma. It’s a sensitive subject because when we delve deeper into it, we see how it was caused and by whom.

Removing the walls around your heart

The more you connect with your heart on your healing journey and remove the walls you have built around it to protect yourself, the more you will begin to see your beauty. You will realize that the chatter in your head, the negative self-talk, is actually other people’s words, like your parents’, a teacher’s, etc. These were their insecurities projected onto you, and you internalized them. When we understand that these words do not reflect the truth of who we are, our beauty and worthiness, it sets us free.
Self-awareness and self-discovery call for brutal honesty, but this courageous introspection will lead to personal freedom and a soul-aligned life. You will feel at home in your heart and begin to emit its frequency openly and strongly.

Strengthening your voice

You have come here with a unique soul mission that only you can fulfill. There is no one else who has the exact same gifts as you. Sharing your unique light requires strong, authentic self-expression. To strengthen your unique voice, pour your heart and soul unapologetically into everything you do. Try knew things or rekindle things you loved to do as a child. Do things that fill you with joy while you are doing them.
There is a reason why these things bring you joy. They are meant to ignite something within you. They are like breadcrumbs from your higher self, meant to lead you to a fulfilling life in which you embody your Divinity and bring forth your unique soul gifts using your unique voice.

Creating for the sake of creating

Do not focus on a goal that lies far in the future. Instead, focus on what brings you peace and joy right now, in this moment, at this point in your life. Life is a journey, and we are meant to enjoy every now moment as we walk our path. So write that short story, paint that painting, sing your favorite songs, cook your own recipes, sew your own clothes, join a theater group, or turn your garden into a work of art.
Anything can be a creative expression. Anything can be channeled Divinity if it comes from the heart space. Simply create for the sake of creating. Do not think about who will see it or how it will be received. It’s about expressing yourself, your core soul essence, without any limitations.

Divine creativity

Art as we know it today is changing. Most artists today channel their pain and suffering into their art. When you expose yourself to their music, writings or paintings, you are also exposing yourself to these lower vibrational frequencies. The artists of the New Earth no longer channel their pain into their art. They channel Divine codes to inspire and ignite. They are guardians of Divine wisdom.
In addition, creativity is not only for the artists in the Age of Aquarius. We are all creative beings channeling Divine inspiration, no matter what area of our lives. Being creative is our state of being. It does not only involve art, such as paintings, novels, songs, etc. It encompasses our entire existence, how we move through life. That implies consciously being an expression of the Divine and being a co-creator with it. Creative and authentic self-expression is not only the key, but also the foundation for a life in abundance and in harmony with the soul.

Creating the New Earth

The New Earth is not a place we go to. It’s a frequency that we hold in our physical vessels. We emit the frequency of unconditional love while being incarnated on this beautiful planet. It’s embodied higher consciousness. This is how the New Earth is being created. It is created through us, as we embrace being fully human and fully Divine at the same time. We facilitate this process by living in our authenticity and expressing our Divinity & unique soul essence. In the New Earth, we do not hide our light. We shine brightly because we have found our voice and are true to ourselves.
